The Idolaters: the Word of Faith and New Apostolic Reformation cults

Their greed, their love of money and fame, is so obvious to the discerning eye. They are idolaters. Those who are in Christ who have been given the "spirit of discernment" saw immediately who these charlatans were as soon as they arrived on the scene back in the mid '70's. Other disciples of Christ saw the stark contradictions between what these people were spewing and the word of God and avoided them and their kind. We are amazed and astounded at the sheer number of people who have bought what they are selling. It seems that our generation of religious folk desires teachers to scratch their itching ears as Paul warned Timothy would happen (it was more than just a warning, it was a prophecy.)  2 Timothy 4:1-4.

The likes of Oral Roberts and Pat Robertson and Paul Crouch and Jim Bakker with their infamous "Christian" networks poisoned the visible church with there lies and heresies. Little ol' ladies watching their tv's felt compelled to support these thieves. Those involved in the Charismatic Movement and the Pentecostal Church jumped onto the heresies-are-us bandwagon having seen a great source of income that could be theirs almost immediately and quickly. Their so-called ministries opened the door for more charlatans such as Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and Jesse Duplantis and Creflo Dollar and Bill Johnson to ply their brand of heresy in order to gain filthy lucre. They are idolaters

These heretics teach their dupes to do the very opposite of what the word of God says about riches and the desire to get wealthy.

3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain, 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. 8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. (1 Tim. 6:3-10 ESV)

These are the people about whom Jesus spoke, "Depart from Me, you workers of iniquity."
